Petrolheads in Chester will now be able to meet up to wax lyrical about their cars over a cup of coffee.
What started off as an idea over coffee one morning by Cestrians Lisa Binfield and Dave Brown, after they noticed similar events elsewhere in the UK and USA, has now become a real meeting specifically for Chester residents.
The first Cars & Coffee event was held last September as a ‘one off’ and was a success but Dave and Lisa decided to put all their energy into making the 2016 events regular occurrences which they felt would work better in summer, and have now come up with a list of dates for events starting from March 13 until September, all held at Chester Castle.
It is a chance for motoring enthusiasts to meet up for a chat, network and show off their pride and joy. And even those who don’t own a car are welcome to come along for the camaraderie.
Dave said: “Chester city centre is an obvious and fantastic location for this– the city has so much going for it. We wanted to do something local, free, all inclusive and fun. Lisa had seen Cars & Coffee events elsewhere and we thought, why not? We want it to be a long term social event that will be entertaining, good for local networking & friendships and above all - fun. ”
“It’s not a commercial enterprise, just a couple of local people trying to arrange something a bit different and entertaining,” he explained. “All are welcome - the idea is to be all encompassing, no matter what you drive or even if you don’t it really doesn’t matter. We have had interest from people with all sorts of cars, from classic to modern Ferraris and everything inbetween.
“So just come and have a nose and a coffee and some good honest grub at great prices!”
